“The North West Minerals Province - where good news stories keep coming.”

7th to 9th May 2024

Mount Isa Civic Centre,
23 West St Mount Isa. Queensland Australia

The 2024 Glencore North West MPX is the original combined conference and expo for the mining and resources sector, located right in the heart of the North West Minerals Province of Queensland.

Welcome to North West MPX

Building on years of mining exhibitions and conferences, the 2024 Glencore North West MPX offers an opportunity for the minds and technology of business to meet with the mining and resources sector over a two-day conference and exhibition in the heart of the North West Minerals Province of Queensland.

This year, the focus of the conference will be on the pipeline projects in the near vicinity of Mount Isa. The conversation will be led by the esteemed Steve de Kruijff OAM, former COO of Copper Assets Australia for Glencore, and president QRC. He has had a four decade long mining career in the region and will bring a depth of knowledge and understanding to the conversations.

The pipeline projects cover a range of commodities and all offer the potential for the region to grow in strength and economic diversification. Some projects are closer to production than others but all are invited to participate in the conference. Following the announcement by Glencore to close their copper mine in 2025, the Queensland Government have made a commitment to Mount Isa to work with stakeholders to ensure that the city remains the thriving and robust hub of the North West Minerals presence. The 2024 North West MPX offers the opportunity for all these stakeholders to meet with one another to exchange news and ideas.

Exhibitors showcasing their products and services will benefit from opportunities to engage the mining industry through displays, simulations and discussion. The provision of a catered morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on the exhibition floor will increase the networking benefits to exhibitors by providing delegates the opportunity to seek out information and build relationships with both exhibitors and each other. Additionally, the exhibition will be open to the public on Thursday 9th May 2024.

Host city Mount Isa is both the gateway to the North West Minerals Province and an outback city rich in heritage and culture, offering delegates an ideal base to explore the region’s mining and natural history, enjoy the adventures of a 4WD tour, jet skiing and fishing on Lake Moondarra or relaxing under a magnificent outback sunset.

We look forward to your participation and involvement in a successful 2024 North West MPX.
